Glamping in Kent

Our Farm

Blandred Farm is both a working farm and home to our family who have owned this farm for almost 50 years but have been farming for generations. Nestled in the village of Acrise, an area of ‘Outstanding Natural Beauty’, we farm around 1000 acres consisting predominantly of arable land but also rich pastures and grazing. Farming is more than an occupation for us but a way of life, a passion, and a solely family orientated business; with three generations of Gowers’ living here at Blandred. We grow a variety of crops including wheat, barley, oats, oilseed rape and potatoes which we supply to wholesalers and private customers.

Here on our farm we are extremely fortunate to be surrounded by breath-taking landscapes ranging from sloping hills, endless natural grasslands, rich woodlands and an unspoilt coastline only a 15-minute drive from the Shepherd’s hut. We also are hugely enthusiastic about the natural world and wildlife and so are extremely proud to share our home with a diverse range of plants, animals and insects. The fields, hedgerows and trees are commonly home to owls, hares, hedgehogs, pheasants and butterflies to name just a few.
